An N-Lightening Event Sponsored by Austin Trace
July 20, 2023
Residents and business partners for Stroll Yankee Trace, Stroll Heatherwoode, and The Farms attended the N-Lightening breakfast. The event took place inside Austin Trace Health and Rehabilitation. The team at Austin Trace graciously provided a wonderful selection of food and use of Rosie's Diner, a 50's retro-style eatery within the facility.
The topic of discussion was personal security, including how to detect scams and fraud, identity theft protection, and cyber security tips. The featured speakers were Ryan Lippe, consumer educator in the Consumer Protection Section for the Office of the Attorney General under Dave Yost, Steve Popp, Director of Training for the Better Business Bureau of Dayton/Miami Valley, and Bryce Holland, Engineer and Consumer Educator with Tech Advisors. The panel of experts engaged the guests with information and Do's and Don'ts along with real-life stories of people who were taken advantage of. Resources were offered for assistance to minimize the risk of being a victim or what to do should this happen.
Our guests had lots of questions and the panel was knowledgeable and answered each one. Everyone felt more encouraged and empowered after our session. We look forward to sponsoring another N-Lightening event soon for our local community!
